Our reach

A plan to reach women in all 16 regions of Ghana

WDB intends to become a bank that every woman entrepreneur and trader can reach, wherever she works. It plans to start with a head office, agents, partners and mobile channels, then expand.

Expansion model

Partners help WDB start fast. Independence is the goal

Partnerships are temporary by design. They make the rollout faster and more cost-efficient while WDB builds its own capacity and infrastructure.

  1. Phase 1

    Launch with partners

Establish the WDB head office and regional branches. Use GEA centres and district assemblies to start quickly and at low cost.

  2. Phase 2

    Widen the network

Add more WDB branches, partner institutions and market centres to expand access.

  3. Phase 3

    Fully independent bank

WDB grows into a national bank with its own branches and channels nationwide.

The timeline for reaching all 16 regions, and the timing of each phase, will be confirmed by WDB.
